Every year, smartphones have more and more RAM. We currently have devices with 8 GB of RAM on the market, which seems to be a delicate exaggeration. However, producers do not intend to limit themselves in this matter. Chinese Oppo is preparing a new flagship (most likely Oppo Find X) with 10 GB of RAM.
How much RAM should a smartphone have? For most people, devices with 3 GB – 4 GB of RAM are sufficient. Flags, which are designed for more demanding users, are equipped with 6 GB or 8 GB dice. Some people think that 8 GB is a delicate exaggeration. Therefore, most people are quite sceptical about the concept of a smartphone with 10 GB of RAM. On the other hand, smartphone manufacturers are counting on users to be magicians of numbers and will be tempted by devices with a huge amount of RAM. The first smartphone with 10 GB of memory is expected to appear later this year. This will most likely be Oppo Find X, which has already arrived at the Chinese certification organization TENAA.
Oppo Find X will be available in the 8GB/128GB and 10GB/256GB variants
Leaks based on certification documentation are a very reliable source of information. Thanks to them, we get to know almost full specification of devices that will soon reach the market. In the case of TENAA documents, these are smartphones that will be sold in China. Therefore, we can assume that the Oppo Find X 10 GB RAM will be initially available only in China. It is not known when (and if at all) this model will go on sale on other continents. Everything looks very interesting. There is only one problem.
The specification, which was placed on the TENAA website, mentions a processor clocked at 2.8 GHz. This means that the alleged Oppo Find X will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset that supports “only” 8 GB of LPDDR4x 1866 MHz RAM. That is why some people began to wonder how the Oppo has designed a smartphone that has more RAM than the platform used chipset allows. Perhaps the Chinese have found a way with Qualcomm to circumvent this limitation. However, the information about 10 GB of RAM in the TENAA documentation may just be a mistake. We will know the truth on the day of the release of the new version of Oppo Find X.
