Updates for Android smartphones is very hard topic. We all know, that mobile manufacturers need a lot of time in order to adapt and test new version of Android operating system to their smartphones. This is the reason why we have to wait so long for Android Nougat updates for our mobiles.

The fragmentation problem on Android market is very popular topic. This is very problematic for developers, because they have to write applications which will be compatible with different Android versions. Unfortunately, only owners of flagship mobiles may be in some sense confident that they will receive the Android Nougat update. Fortunately, smartphone manufacturers have started to think also about users of mid-range devices.

Samsung will prepare the Android Nougat update for mobiles from Galaxy A line.

This information comes form Sammobile service. It looks that someone has confirmed that Samsung is going to release Android 7.0 Nougat for Samsung Galaxy A (2016) lineup. Here you have the exact list of included models:

  • Galaxy A3,
  • Galaxy A5,
  • Galaxy A7,
  • Galaxy A8,
  • Galaxy A9,
  • Galaxy A9 Pro.

Unfortunately, it is not known when these updates will be released. Therefore, if you have one of the devices from the list, then you have to be patient. Samsung is also already working on Android Nougat for Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2. Also, they have to prepare this kind of update for Galaxy A 2017 smartphones, because these mobiles will be delivered with Android Marshmallow on board. As you can see, Koreans have a lot of work to do, so it is very hard to predict when Galaxy A 2016 mobiles will receive the Android Nougat upgrade.
